Description
1 Gallon Charred Oak Barrel
This new 1 Gallon Charred Oak Barrel is made right here in the US by a company that is known for high quality whiskey and bourbon barrels. With the amount of surface area in these barrels, aging for 2-3 months is perfect! 3/4″ thick staves and no toxic varnish or sealers just natural wood.
*** Please note the 1 gallon barrel does not include a spigot or a spigot hole. If you want a spigot it must be purchased separately. ***

I’ve had my heart run put up for 10 months and it is some of the nicest tasting/smelling product I’ve had. My wife even likes it and she do do “spirits”

This is my first oak barrel purchase.Looks like I picked a real good one. The barrel sealed easily.Heavy duty, should last a long time. Can’t wait to try the finished product in 7 weeks. The real McCoy.

Great looking Barrel. It exceeds expectations. I would like to note that if you are wanting a spigot on this barrel that you will have to drill the spigot hole yourself.

I purchased 1 gallon oak charred barrel and spigots for 1 gal and a 3 gallon barrel. Excellent quality and received in 2 days. Then Soaked in hot water 3 days and no leaks. Then i filled with abk6 vs cognac since i like my tequila aged in cognac barrel. I drilled my own spigot hole 13/16″ for my bourbon used 3 gal barrel soaked it for day in hot water hammered in and no leaks.

Excellent quality product. I started with the 1 gallon barrels, then 3, then 5. All great quality, and produce great spirits. I used my one gallon barrels 7 times. They might still be good, but I was happy with that. I once took some out after 17 days, and even it was good.

These are Excellent quality barrels. I was a little leery at first having never seen one in person. Other similar style barrels I’ve seen were cheap, leaked and fell apart quickly, just didn’t hold up. These barrels from Mile High are excellent quality using thick oak very much like full size wine barrels. I was thrilled with the first, and ended up getting a couple more. These barrels seal fast, hold product very well and produce a great smooth flavor whether you’re aging wine, ciders or spirits. Ended up branding them with our cattle brand for fun look. Great for quick age in just a couple months or holding longer as well-currently at a year on one and very happy with the product. These barrels are definitely worth the cost, and can be re-charred for longer use if you like. Highly recommend Mile High’s oak barrels!

Price is higher than barrels coming from China and Mexico. Offset by higher quality from these barrels. Bigly.
No leakage whatsoever upon filling with hot water _and_ the toast is acting well on new make.
Thickness and fit lead me towards confidence that they can be re-toasted again at some future point.
VERY good value for the money.

i purchased the 1 gallon barrel and couldn’t be more impressed. very high quality wood, craftsmanship, and char. 2 months aging on a sweet feed recipe created the best whiskey i ever tasted. after 4 aging’s the char starts losing its magic, but the barrel’s come apart easy enough to pop and end off and re-char the inside for more usage. highly recommended

Great quality and a must for home distilling – filled with hot water and let set 3 days – minimal leaks around bung/cracks that first day but sealed up tight after that just as expected. Oak chips work good in a pinch when cost/time are not on your side but the same spirit even for 4-5 weeks in these barrels is amazing how much it improves the flavor! Definitely recommend getting one – and if your budget can afford get two so you always have one aging long-term.
