Description

Precision Refractometer 0-32% Brix with ATC

A Precision Refractometer reads brix in unfermented mash runoff or fruit wash runoff by measuring passing light through a small sample. To use, apply 2-3 drops to the sample face then close the cover, and look through the eyepiece while positioning refractometer at a bright light source. Easily sample your mash runoff so you know when you have extracted all sugars.

Note; once fermentation has started and alcohol is present then you will need to use a formula to figure an accurate reading. The alcohol will affect the accuracy.

Brix can be approximately converted to specific gravity (SG) by a simple equation:
SG equals 1 +(0.004 x Brix)

Measure from 0-32° Brix with an accuracy of +|- 0.2° Brix. They also include automatic temperature compensation for temperatures between 50-86° F, which eliminates the need to consult temperature correction charts.
