How to use Mr. Distiller video:

Hey guys Josh here with mile Hi Distilling wanted to bring a brand new mr. distiller video oh we actually did one about four years ago got 150,000 views on it figures times maybe revamp a little bit bring some new products this is actually a just as ugly of a shirt that might use the first time Oh bullshit that’s a great-looking shirt I’ve seen actually homeless people wear nicer clothes on this hahaha so elastic Nick this is actually the same mister distiller unit that Mike used four years ago i spended meaning a party it’s been lent out to friends and family it’s kind of themed up because some of those parties get do get a little bit wild but it’s still running strong if you own water if you are thinking about anyone you just need to know that this is a workhorse it’s a really solid unit it’s been around and still running strong for us so this mister distiller is really a great unit if you’re looking for something that’s kind of a set it forget it plug and play unit yeah you’ll love it just sits right on top of your countertop and everybody else oh really lost so today we’re actually going to talk to you about how to make basically a sugar wine this is actually the the same two gallon bucket that you would get with the mistress Dillard unit if you ordered the mistress sylia with the starter kit so what you would do is put six pounds of just regular sugar or sugar you’ll get at any grocery store nothing special about it just plain white sugar six pounds of sugar in the bottom of the bucket then you want to put hot water up to the two gallon mark in the bucket which is right about this bottom lip here stir up all that sugar make sure it all dissolves you don’t want any grains of sugar in the bottom of that bucket it needs to be completely dissolved into that hot water once it’s completely dissolved check your temperature make sure it’s between somewhere at the very bottom in eighty degrees of top in 95 anything hotter than that you’re gonna kill your and obviously you don’t want to do that once you’re in between the 80 and 95 degree mark you’ll go ahead and put in your mistress silver geese and your mistress tiller nutrient and you’ll stir it up right about a minute make sure all the closer dissolves and then and that’s just completely clean now before we go any farther I have to mention this we’ve actually had just a few customers call us and mag asked us this question this well let’s start here first this is two gallons okay the mr. distiller only takes one gallon so this will actually make two runs so that’s number one number two if you put a gallon of the wash into the mr. distiller you’d only got to get out about a quart of alcohol because it’s actually going to produce about eighteen to twenty percent alcohol by volume infusing turn please if you’re using Archer buoys correct so we’ve had customers call us and say I put a gallon of washing the master distiller and I got a gallon out and it’s only at 18 to 20 percent alcohol by morning what am I doing wrong well the answer is you’re running everything out of your mr. distiller the mr. distiller and any still for that matter does not make alcohol it separates it from water its vaporizing the alcohol leaving the water behind so if you have 20 percent alcohol by volume in a one gallon a batch of wash that means you’ve got just under a quart or suit yeah I just under a quart of an actual alcohol so once you actually distill out a quart of alcohol unplug your mr. distiller don’t let it continue to run if you do you’re just going to water down the alcohol and obviously you don’t want to do that if you want to do that might as well just drink the watch plane and nobody wants to do that either collect your quart of alcohol turn it unplug it wait for it to cool down dump it out and clean it up I know that’s kind of a strange thing to go through but believe me we’ve had the phone calls we’ve seen the emails so once you’re taking that gallon and put it in here you’re actually going to turn it on and it takes about an hour for just start for it to start talking over 45 minutes and he writes to you dog but a half hour forty-five you’re searching Friday and what you do you’re going to actually discard the first shot glass glass ish out of the out of the distiller there’s very cheap you know very high chances this has some ethanol in it you don’t want to drink this just completely discard it you don’t even want it as you can see my good people putting a little closer you’ll see that it will actually begin your distilling here there’s a tribe that getting to try to get really close you see what’s coming in or still it so you can see it’s not like spitting out like a steady stream but it’s not super slow either right you’re looking typically right around two three maybe four drops per second just like with any alcohol at all the slower it goes the better okay we collected some of this over here in our test jar and we actually got right at about 55 percent or 110 proof this is pretty normal you can actually at this point take it and in flavor it or bottle it or do whatever you want to do with it but remember distill it distilling alcohol social United States completely legal Mike said invest in the very first video if you put it in your gas tank you’re fine if you put it in a martini glass you’re breaking the law we don’t want you break it a lot so with that being said we now filter our fuel so typically what we do is we collect in here about a liter out of time this is this this little piece cup here out of our new carbon filter collection system comes in three parts and come to the collection cup as well as the filter unit the filter unit is actually two pieces which actually use a carbon filter that’s completely replaceable you can get just a few uses out of each one of these which is why we sell 10 PS replacement packs very easy very simple and it does a really good job we’ve actually had some of our customers trying to complain about how slowly stays run but once again the slower you go the better let it run and filter slow if it does that it’s pulling more and more out of it and filtering and cleaning it a lot more efficiently so what we typically do is we would maybe just slow slow and collect this here before right in [Music] and after a little while it’ll actually soak into that carbon begin to filter right up into the bottom chamber there is a lid here so if you’re if you’re done and they use flannel you know put a cap on just to keep all the nasties out that’s completely fine after it’s completely down there you can go ahead and treat it like a mulatto whether you want to age it drink it straight or put it in your put in your gas tank or maybe even flavor it so any of those things at all so first once again guys really appreciate all that you’ve done and all the views that we’ve got in the last video we want to see just as many on this one if you have any questions any concerns any thought whatsoever maybe the best practices that you can use the mistresses still in the past and you said you know what I’ve tried this and this works really well for me please post it in the comments we want to see those things we don’t know how to improve unless we hear from you so we’d love to be able to do that one say thank you so much for the continued business and the support you guys have a great day

This is a one gallon capacity still that requires so little work there is nothing to say except that it is a fantastic unit that is easy to clean, very consistent results time after time. If you are tired of the water for the worm and taking up most of the kitchen when you want to cook, then this unit is great. First run is consistently 130 proof and second is 160-170. It doesn’t get easier than this.

My Mr. Distiller came in while I was on vacation so I had to wait a week and a half to unpack. Put together my first wash when I got home but just couldn’t wait. I threw several bottles of old wine laying around. I ran it thru and got 110 proof. Let’s just say I’m happy.

Not a bad product its really simple easy to use not real set on taste quality takes bout 2 hours for one run u can cut it for a 60,50,40 % cuts each bout 8 to 10 ounces or collect all for 700 ml of 100 prof then dilute to 80 prof with 800 to 850 ml have done several different types of washes many runs still running smoothly and efficiently easy clean up

Me again, previous review wine distillation. I found web instructions on getting the most out of Mr. Distiller. I did a rum wash and double distilled per instructions. Aged my rum with dark toasted with white oak for several weeks and filtered through coffee filters for a nice amber colored rum. Came out not sweet with a very nice molasses flavor. Best rum and coke I’ve ever had. DON’t believe the forums saying Mr. Distiller is a waste of money. Mr. Distiller ROCKS.

This I will use for as long as it lasts. A great way to start and try different recipes. I will up grade in the near future, but i will use this one for a quick party or testing new things. I kind of wish it was battery powered so i can take it fishing or hunting? It was definitely worth the $. No regrets and it is simple to use.

Just now getting into flavoring been mixing 1 gallon apple juice, 1 gallon apple cider, 3 cups white sugar, 1 cup brown sugar, 12 cinnamon sticks, 1 teaspoon vanilla bring to boil and let simmer an hour. Add 1 liter shine- 4 cups 2-cups cake flavored vodka or vanilla vodka, mix and bottle with 1 or 2 cinnamon sticks longer it sits better it tastes

Very happy with every thing that I get. Run was what I expected will order from mile high from now on

  14. David Anderson (verified owner)

Very happy with this machine, but it’s a good thing there’s plenty of flavors to disguise the taste of it’s distillate

Excellent and economical distilling on training wheels! This is for sure the best way for a beginner to get started. Actually, you may not want to “upgrade” from Mr. Distiller. Oh, you might want to upgrade some of the components of this kit after you make a few batches, but this really has it all to get started. I think as one becomes more experienced, this continues to be valuable to hone a wide variety of recipes in small batches. . . . Mile Hi support is terrific, by the way. They gave me a lot of help to get started and, as a result, I have enjoyed and continue to enjoy to the max what was once my new hobby.
